Culture #
- Found out about some wine documentaries when riding bicycles:
- Tavour allows you to build out a custom box of craft beer and ship it to your home. However in Michigan this is currently impossible due to rough public policy.
- danluu has a bunch of fascinating articles, found from Individuals matter.
- rawtext.club: “Not cool. Not easy. Not big. rawtext.club is what you make it.”
Technology #
- There are a lot of ways to create Kubernetes on metal, the Kubernetes Cluster Lifecycle SIG has a project underway called cluster API:
Today, over 100 Kubernetes distributions and installers have been created, each with different default configurations for clusters and supported infrastructure providers. SIG Cluster Lifecycle saw a need for a single tool to address a set of common overlapping installation concerns and started kubeadm.
- ssh-chat and writeup.
- Why can’t databases tables index themselves?
- A Babel in Bazel has a post on Bazel Caching
- Reverse Engineering Dark Souls 3 Networking multi-part series.
- Article on how to load zwift on peloton bikes
- simpletorrent looks like some nice software.
- mrusme has this site which is laid out in an interesting way and has a bunch of self documented journeys.
- audiobookshelf is awesome software.
Analysis #
- citybound is a city building game that has a beautiful representation with the implementation in rust with rust WASM. In looking at it there was a reference to abstreet as another open project.
- Emeran Mayer talking about “Mind-Gut Connection” and Dave Asprey talking about Viome which will analyze your feces and provide you with tailored prebiotic, probiotic, and dietary recommendations.
- Sim Central Bank and Hn discussion.
- reminded me of MONIAC, which is such an awesome kinesthetic computer.
Travel #
- Earth.fm like spotify, but for natural soundscapes.
- Looking at Pinion or hub (Alfine, Rohloff Speedhub) based bikes
- Priority Bicycles seems to make component selection so that maintenance is minimal and that when it is required it can be done at home without needing to visit a bike shop.
- Tout Terrain
- Koga
- WorldTraveller can be fit with Rohloff Speedhub
